Meld Studio is a free live streaming and recording software available for macOS and Windows. It offers video mixing, switching, encoding, and streaming. It includes support for real-time capture of audio and video devices, gameplay, and desktop or application windows.
History
Meld Studio was first released for macOS in 2023 by Meld Studio, Inc.[2] It was noted that Metal was used for hardware-accelerated compositing. Windows support was added later on, using NVENC for hardware-accelerated encoding.[3]
Features
- Simultaneous RTMP outputs to any RTMP-supporting destination, including YouTube, Twitch, Instagram and Facebook. [4][5]
- Supports recording to containers such as FLV, MKV, and MOV. [6]
- Integrates with the Elgato Stream Deck allowing for scene switching, audio control and more.[7][8] The plugin is open-source. [9]
- Supports Audio mixing, channel re-mapping, noise suppression and Automatic gain control. [10]
- Chroma key (green screen), luma key, and alpha key.[11]
- Transitions such as cut, fade, morph and move transition which animates changes to an elements transform when it exists in both scenes.
- Supports custom keyboard shortcuts to trigger actions.
