PhotoDemon is a free and open-source image editor under the BSD-2-Clause license.[1] It is primarily aimed at photo retouching. The software boasts interoperability with other programs (such as the Adobe Photoshop PSD Files) and a host of free tools and filters. Written by Tanner Helland and contributors, in development since 2013.

The program is named after its BSD license, whose mascot is a cute cartoon demon (daemon).[citation needed]

Unlike many other similar editors, this program focuses on speed and usability. One review explained, "the loading is quick and format support is excellent" and "supports a wide range of features."[2]
