Etymology

Bartsiella was named after Johann Bartsch (Latinized as Johannes Bartsius, 1709-1738), a botanist of Königsberg. It refers to another genus of Orobanchaceae, Bartsia, named for Johann Bartsch by his associate Carl Linnaeus.[4]
