The Haitian nesophontes (Nesophontes zamicrus) is an extinct species of mammal in the family Nesophontidae.[2] It was endemic to Hispaniola in the Caribbean (in both the Dominican Republic and Haiti). The species was often found in hot and humid swamps, such as the Mires húmedos swamp of Northern Dominica.[3]
