Aspergillus bisporus is a species of fungus in the genus Aspergillus. It is from the Bispori section.[2] The species was first described in 1971.[1]
The genome of A. bisporus was sequenced as a part of the Aspergillus whole-genome sequencing project - a project dedicated to performing whole-genome sequencing of all members of the genus Aspergillus.[3] The genome assembly size was 27.10 Mbp.[3]
Growth and morphology
Aspergillus bisporus has been cultivated on both Czapek yeast extract agar (CYA) plates and Malt Extract Agar Oxoid® (MEAOX) plates. The growth morphology of the colonies can be seen in the pictures below.
