Ernst Wolfram Kittel (or Wolfram Kittel) (born June 12, 1940 in Jägerndorf (Krnov), Czech Republic) is Austrian-Dutch physicist who worked in the field of particle physics. His research covered the topics related to multi-particle phenomena, such as soft-QCD dynamics, correlations, fluctuations, Bose-Einstein phenomena in collisions of high-energy beams of particles. He was one of the scientists who recognized the importance of multi-particle production in collision experiments in early 1970x-1980x, and he developed this field since then.

Prof. Dr. Wolfram Kittel was a full professor of experimental physics (high energy) at the University of Nijmegen (now Radboud University Nijmegen), The Netherlands. Between 1990-2000 he was a chairman Dept. of Experimental High Energy Physics, Univ. of Nijmegen. Between 1994-2003 W.Kittel was a Founding Chairman and Scientific Director High Energy Physics Institute Nijmegen. Since 1978 he was a spokesman of the CERN experiment NA22 (Aachen- Berlin- Brussels- Krakow-Helsinki- Nijmegen- Rio de Janeiro- Serpukhov- Warsaw- Yerevan).

Wolfram is the author of several-hundred publications dedicated to multi-particle production in collider physics and several reviews (see several selected reviews here [1] [2] [3] [4]).

Walfram co-authored a book "Soft Multihadron Dynamics" [5] that gives an overview of the development of the soft (non-perturbative) phenomena uncounted in th production of multi-hadronic final states from collisions of various types of particles at high-energies.
