Archangiaceae (synonym Cystobacteraceae) is a family of gram-negative, rod-shaped bacteria. It belongs to the suborder Cystobacterineae in the order Myxococcales and comprises six genera validly described as Archangium, Cystobacter, Hyalangium, Melittangium, Stigmatella,[1] and Vitiosangium. It was unified with the family Cystobacteraceae (now a synonym) in 2015.[2]
