Aspergillus askiburgiensis is a species of fungus in the genus Aspergillus. It is from the Nidulantes section.[2] The species was first described in 2016.[1] It has been isolated from cave sediment in the Czech Republic.[2] A. askiburgiensis has been reported to produce sterigmatocystin, versicolorins, and cf. monascorubramin.[2]

Growth and morphology

A. askiburgiensis has been cultivated on both Czapek yeast extract agar (CYA) plates and Malt Extract Agar Oxoid® (MEAOX) plates. The growth morphology of the colonies can be seen in the pictures below.
