Aspergillus karnatakaensis is a species of fungus in the genus Aspergillus. It is from the Aenei section.[1] The species was first described in 2010.[1] A. karnatakaensis has been isolated from soil, and has been found to produce terrein, gregatins, asteltoxin, karnatakafuran A, and karnatakafuran B.[1]
Growth and morphology
A. karnatakaensis has been cultivated on both Czapek yeast extract agar (CYA) plates and Malt Extract Agar Oxoid® (MEAOX) plates. The growth morphology of the colonies can be seen in the pictures below.
