Caruichthys is an extinct genus of prehistoric bony fish[3] that lived during the Early Triassic epoch in what is now South Africa (Cradock District). It is known from a single specimen,[4] which was collected from the middle Beaufort Series (Lystrosaurus Assemblage Zone) of Doorn River.[1]
