The Guatemalan flicker (Colaptes auratus mexicanoides) is a woodpecker in the family Picidae. It is usually considered conspecific with the northern flicker (Colaptes auratus) although some authorities consider it a distinct species. It is found in Central America from southern Mexico through Guatemala, northern El Salvador and Honduras into northern Nicaragua.[1]
