The Kobe mole (Mogera kobeae) is a species of mammal in the family Talpidae. It is endemic to a number of islands in central and southern Japan .
At least one researcher considers M. kobeae and the large mole (M. robusta) to be the same species. Further research is necessary to determine the correct taxonomic classification.
