The Journal of Polymer Science, Part A: Polymer Chemistry is a peer-reviewed scientific journal covering polymer science. The journal is dedicated to studies in fundamental organic polymer chemistry and physical organic chemistry. This includes all related topics (such as organic, bio-organic, bio-inorganic, and biological chemistry of monomers, polymers, oligomers and model compounds, inorganic and organometallic chemistry for catalysts, mechanistic studies, supramolecular chemistry aspects relevant to polymers and reactions on polymers). It is published by John Wiley & Sons . According to the Journal Citation Reports, the journal has a 2012 impact factor of 3.245.[1]

The journal was established in 1946 by Paul M. Doty, Herman F. Mark, and Charles C. Price as Journal of Polymer Science and was later split in two series (in 1966), the other one being the Journal of Polymer Science Part B. The current editors-in-chief are Mitsuo Sawamoto, Virgil Percec, Karen L. Wooley, E. W. Meijer, and Craig J. Hawker.[2]
