Bode Miller Alpine Racing is a mobile game developed and published by American studio Abandon Mobile, initially released for Verizon Wireless cell phones on January 30, 2006 and then soon afterward on Cingular phones. This skiing game features the four events at which Olympic skier Bode Miller excels: Downhill, Slalom, and Super-G. The game also features a hot seat multiplayer option allowing two players to play against each other using the same phone.
Gameplay
The goal is to race down the course as fast as possible while avoiding obstacles that can cause the player to crash. After selecting an event, course and skis, you begin at the gate, needing to time three keypresses against starting lights to build up power. Each keypress increases your power percentage, and by synchronizing perfectly with three lights, you will get 100 percent power at launch. Player control of the skier requires only three keypad buttons: Left to turn left, Right to turn right, and OK to go into a tight tuck, recover when off balance, or reach when near the finish line. While the controls are simple, gameplay requires quick decision making. The key to winning the race is through effective turning, quick timing of turns and tight tucks, and strategic use of energy.
