Boosteroid is a Ukraine-based cloud gaming provider that offers a subscription-based access to a remote gaming desktop (same as virtual machine) where users can launch videogames they previously purchased via digital distribution platforms like Steam, Epic Games Store, etc. [1][2] Boosteroid offers no free trial but also has no queues unlike competitor's GeForceNow.[3]

Boosteroid launched its beta in 2017 with full-scale launch in 2019.[4]

The service hosts its own GPU-servers in 18 data centers in Romania, Italy, Ukraine, UK, Slovakia, France, Spain, Sweden, Serbia, and the USA (Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Texas, Illinois, Florida, Washington).[5][6]

Initially avaliable only in browser, at the moment Boosteroid offers clients for Windows, MacOS, Linux, ChromeOS (as a progressive web app), as well as Android TV and Android Mobile applications.[7]

Boosteroid partners with ASUS [8]and Intel[9] for its server solutions.

Partnerships

On March 14, 2023, Boosteroid and Microsoft announced a 10-year contract to enable players to play titles published by Xbox Game Studios and Activision Blizzard (upon Acqusition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft). As of 2023, Boosteroid has 4 million users, making it the largest independent cloud gaming company in the world.[10][11][12]

Boosteroid is avaliable as a standalone application on LG[13] (webOS), Philips, Sharp[14], Skyworth[15] and KIVI [16]TVs.[17][18]
