Granblue Fantasy Project Re:Link[lower-alpha 1] is an in-development single to four player action role-playing game for PlayStation 4; the game is being developed by Cygames and PlatinumGames - the game takes place in the same fictional universe as the 2014 mobile game Granblue Fantasy.

Development history

Development of Granblue Fantasy Project Re: Link was announced in Aug 2016 at the "Cygames Next 2016" event, to be developed by PlatinumGames - key development leads were Nobuo Uematsu (music), and Hideo Minaba (character design); the project's producer was Koichi Haruta, and its director Tetsuya Fukuhara.[1] In Sep 2016 the target platform was announced as being PlayStation 4.[2] Kenji Saito was producer for the game at PlatinumGames.[3]

The game is set in the same fictional realm as the original smartphone game Granblue Fantasy, but takes place in a different Skydom ('sky kingdom'); some characters from the original game will appear.[4]

The first public gameplay was shown at GranBlue Fes 2017.[5] In a late 2017 issue of Dengeki PlayStation director Tetsuya Fukuhara described some gameplay details - the game includes four person co-operative multiplayer, or, single person play with three AI characters.[6] (see also Artificial intelligence in video games). In July 2018 localization of the game was announced for English, German, Italian, French, and Spanish languages.[7]
