Aspergillus arachidicola is a species of fungus in the genus Aspergillus. It is from the Flavi section.[2] The species was first described in 2008.[1] A. arachidicola has been shown to produce aflatoxin B1, aflatoxin B2, aflatoxin G1, aflatoxin G2, aspergillic acid, chrysogine, kojic acid, parasiticolide, and ditryphenaline.[2]

Growth and morphology

A. arachidicola has been cultivated on both Czapek yeast extract agar (CYA) plates and Malt Extract Agar Oxoid® (MEAOX) plates. The growth morphology of the colonies can be seen in the pictures below.
