Pipeworks Studio, Inc. is an American game development company based in Eugene, Oregon.
History
Pipeworks Studio is an independent multiplatform game developer that began life as a studio with senior artists, designers, and programmers from such titles as Tribes, Pro Pilot, Populous, Aces, 3D Ultra, Front Page Sports, and Coaster. Pipeworks is a key developer of software and technology for PC, Consoles, Mobile, & Switch. Based in Eugene, Oregon, the studio is known for creating games for both existing franchises as well as their own original properties. Pipeworks develops games for platforms including the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Mobile, Nintendo Wii U, Nintendo Switch, and the PC. Some of their released titles include SoccerDie for iOS, Superfight for PC, and Prominence Poker on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Deadliest Warrior for the X360 and PS3 is one of its most popular creations. Pipeworks is currently developing a variety of original IP. On the 25th of July 2016, it was revealed that Pipeworks would take over development of the console and mobile versions of Terraria, in order to achieve feature parity with the PC version[1], which also includes a Nintendo Switch version.
Pipeworks is noted for creating the boot ROM for the Microsoft Xbox[2] and Xbox 360[3] consoles, including the opening animated sequences.
