NGC 606 is a barred spiral galaxy located in the Pisces constellation about 470 million light-years[3] from the Milky Way. It was discovered by the French astronomer Édouard Stephan in 1881.[4][5]

One supernova has been observed in NGC 606: SN 2016fmt (Type II, mag. 17.8) was discovered by the Italian Supernovae Search Project (ISSP) on 28 August 2016.[6][7]
