Rishab Jain (Hindi: [ɾɪ.ʃəbʱ dʒɛːn]; born December, 2004) is an inventor, scientist, and researcher.

Research

In October 2018, Rishab Jain, was named America's Top Young Scientist[1] for his award-winning tool which harnesses artificial intelligence to improve radiotherapy for pancreatic cancer patients.[2] Since 2019, he has attended Westview High School (Portland, Oregon). After receiving his title of 'America's Top Young Scientist', Jain has been named amongst Time's 25 Most Influential Teens,[3] invited on the GMA Day show,[4] written about in Teen Vogue,[5] and covered in other media.

Jain continues to develop more tools for pancreatic cancer. His latest invention diagnosing gene mutations using radiomics and artificial intelligence may help increase patient survival-rates by 7-13%. For this research, Jain was awarded second prize at Broadcom MASTERS, the premier science and engineering competition for middle school students.[6] In October 2019, Jain was awarded with minor planet 'Rishabjain', presented by MIT's Lincoln Labs.[7]

In November 2019, Rishab Jain was awarded Vincitore Assoluto (Absolute Winner) by the Giuseppe Sciacca Foundation in Vatican City. The award was presented by His Eminence, Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke, at Pontifical Urban University.[8]

Activism

Jain is a promoter of 'STEAM': science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.[9] Jain has put on a series of STEAM-related workshops in his community to help foster the interest in younger children. He has also been an active supporter of pancreatic cancer awareness, having called for more research regarding this specific type of cancer.[10]

In February 2020, Jain spread awareness [11] for curiosity and pancreatic cancer at the TEDxGateway 2020 event. Jain shared his research and inventions.[12]
