EXO 0748-676, also known as UY Volantis, is a X-ray burster system located in the constellation Volans. The system is approximately 26,400 light years away from the Solar System.[1]
Properites
Variability
This is a X-ray burster, a type of X-ray binary ranging from an apparent magnitude of 16.9, to 23. Based on this, its impossible to detect with the naked eye.[citation needed]
System
The binary pair contains either a red giant or an A-type supergiant, and either a white dwarf or a neutron star.[citation needed]
