Isochorismate synthase (PchA) (EC number 5.4.4.2) is an enzyme that catalyzes the chemical reaction:
- chorismate → isochorismate
Hence, this enzyme has one substrate, chromate and one product, isochorismate. This enzyme catalyzes the first step in the biosynthesis of salicylic acid in Pseudomonas aeruginosa.[1]
