Cabela's Outdoor Adventures is a hunting video game released in 2005 by Activision.[1][2]
Gameplay
The game gives a player the ability to drive vehicles, fish, and hunt. There are 11 locations, 32 animals to hunt and harvest, and several thousand Cabela's gear options. Some of the animals in the game include white-tailed deer, mule deer, brown bear, black bear, moose, coyote, bobcat, lynx, javelina, and raccoon. There are animals in the game that will attack you including bobcats, wolves, bears, lynx, coyotes, and moose.
Open Season
This is Quick hunt mode in the game. Jump right into the hunt with random gear that is picked for you and complete your authorized bag limit for deer. You can also choose the difficulty of the hunt to test out the capabilities. They include Greenhorn (Easy), Sportsmen (Medium), and Simulation (Hard).
Adventure Mode
This is the story mode to the game. The hunter will travel across 11 different regions during two seasons to bag a specific limit of deer, big game and small game as well as fishing opportunities.

Cabela's
Shopping is where you can buy or sell firearms/bows along with clothing and accessories.
Gear is where you will equip your gear to prepare for your hunt.
Deer country is where you will review all the trophies you have taken over the course of the game (featuring dioramas for certain locations).
Hunts
This mode starts you off in each location with your guide describing the locations. You must take a certain number of deer in order to qualify to the next level. Each level also has a special pop up mission (marked by *) which is either shown by your guide or the warden.
Missions
In this mode, the player will go back to each region to complete different missions.
Contests
In this mode, you will compete in different events in order to earn in game money.
Target Range
This is where you will sight in your weapons before heading out into the field. This range excepts only handguns, scoped handguns, shotguns, scoped shotguns, rifles, and scoped rifles.
Critical reception
This game received mostly positive reviews from critics. Who praised the game for its gameplay, graphics, sound, value, and animal behaviors. But criticized for the human designs and movements.
