MIUI for POCO (abbreviation of MI User Interface and pronounced as "Me You I")[1] is a custom Android firmware mobile operating system developed by Xiaomi for their subsidiaries POCO Smartphone series.[2] The firmware is based on Google's Android operating system.[3]

Unlike most of Xiaomi devices which running on traditional MIUI ROM, POCOPHONE are running on modified version of MIUI which specifically design for the POCO series. As mentioned by Xiaomi them self on the Poco website, the MIUI for POCO are "specifically modified for POCOPHONE to make it lighter, faster, and smoother." There is also few visual changes which difference them self from the traditional MIUI.

Development

Similar to its predecessor, MIUI for POCO were based on the Android 8.1.0 Oreo, but optimized to run on Poco series smartphone. However, Xiaomi also release the beta version of the Launcher to Google Play to allows any Android smartphone to try the launcher as well.[4]
