NGC 4220 is a lenticular galaxy located in the constellation Canes Venatici. It was discovered on March 9, 1788 by William Herschel[2]
Supernova
One supernova has been observed in NGC 4220: SN 1983O (type unknown, mag. 14.5) was discovered by Swiss astronomer Paul Wild on 30 June 1983.[3][4]
