Aerococcaceae, from Ancient Greek ἀήρ (aḗr), meaning "air", and κόκκος (kókkos), meaning "grain", are a family of Gram-positive lactic acid bacteria,[1][2] including the bacterium that causes gaffkaemia in lobsters.[3]

Phylogeny

The currently accepted taxonomy is based on the List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature (LPSN)[2] and National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI).[1]
