Geomicrobium is a moderately halophilic and alkaliphilic genus of bacteria from the family of Bacillaceae with one known species (Geomicrobium halophilum).[1][2][3] Geomicrobium halophilum has been isolated from garden soil in Japan.[3]
Phylogeny
The currently accepted taxonomy is based on the List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature (LPSN)[1] and National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI).[4]
