Biology:Pelagicoccus

From HandWiki

Pelagicoccus is a Gram-negative genus of bacteria from the family of Puniceicoccaceae.[1][2][3]

Phylogeny

Pelagicoccus enzymogenes. Shape and ultrastructure of cells of strain NFK12T. Cells were grown in MB at 33°C for 2 days. (A) Transmission electron microscopy. Arrows in panel a indicate ‘capsular’ EPS around the cells. Scale bar, 0.5 μm. (B) Scanning electron microscopy. Arrows indicate randomly distributed finger-like extensions from which fimbriae appendages. Scale bar, 1.0 μm. (C) Scanning electron microscopy. Arrows indicate ‘bridge’ extracellular polysaccharides (EPS). Scale bar, 5.0 μm.[4]

The currently accepted taxonomy is based on the List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature (LPSN)[1] and National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI).[5]
