Chemistry:Isobutylbenzene

From HandWiki

Isobutylbenzene is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C10H14.[1] It is used in chemical synthesis as a fuel and in pharmaceuticals. For instance, it is used to make pain killers like ibuprofen.

Isobutylbenzene is a colorless flammable liquid that is a respiratory irritant.

Industrial production is through catalytic carbometalation: toluene adds to propene in the presence of a sodium–potassium catalyst on activated carbon.[2]
