The Treponemataceae are a family of spirochete bacteria.[4] The clade includes a number of significant pathogens, such as Treponema pallidum, the cause of human syphilis.[5][6]
Phylogeny
The currently accepted taxonomy is based on the List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature (LPSN)[4] and National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI).[7]
