Oregon Psilocybin Society is an organization interested in making "psilocybin services" -- a sequence of supervised sessions which includes the use of psychedelic psilocybin mushrooms -- available to adults in the U.S. state of Oregon. The group, established by mental health counselors Tom and Sheri Eckert in 2016,[1][2] proposes to introduce an initiative to state voters in 2020 whereby any individual over 21 years of age, upon attaining medical clearance from a physician, could participate in psilocybin services, provided on-site at a licensed facility. The service progression would include, at minimum, a preparation session, a psilocybin administration session, and an integration session. All sessions would be conducted by trained facilitators. The "Psilocybin Service Initiative" was submitted to Oregon's Office of Legislative Counsel in January 2017.[2]
